This coffee is grown by Jairo Arcila with assistance from the Cofinet team at Finca Castellon. Up until recently, Jairo had only focussed on producing commercial coffees in volume. After some persistent persuasion from his son, Felipe, he decided to try his hand at growing Gesha. The results have been incredible with his coffee placing highly in last seasons COE.

This coffee was carefully handpicked in order to use only the ripest cherries and natural processed by Cofinet at La Pradera washing station.

This microlot is 100% Gesha. This variety was first discovered in Abyssinia, Ethiopia in 1931. Gesha was planted in Panama for the first time in 1963 and in Colombia in 2005.

Finca Castellon is located in Circasia, Quindio only 5 kilometres away from Armenia, which is part of the coffee triangle (the coffee triangle used to be the area with the highest coffee production in Colombia 15 year ago).

Roast Info:

Best Consumed: 10-20 days post-roast date

This coffee is great for filter brew methods. Our favourites are Kalita Wave, Aeropress or Clever Dripper. For filter, we recommend 6g of ground coffee for every 100ml of water at approx 93c. Use your kitchen scales you’ll love it!
